Important Changes - Please read carefully before submitting your abstract.
At the time of regular abstract submission, attendees submitting abstracts must indicate the format in which they would prefer to present their abstracts at the Annual Meeting. Three major changes are being implemented to the 2024 Annual Meeting program.
I. “Symp Select” Speaker
One additional speaker will be added to each Annual Meeting symposium as a “Symp Select” speaker.
If you are a principal investigator, you will have the option of choosing “Symp Select” during abstract submission. Symp Select speakers will speak for 15 minutes with 5 additional minutes for Q&A. Program chairs will select one “Symp Select” speaker for each of the 20 symposia.
II. Platform Presenters can also Present a Poster
If selected for a platform talk you now have the option to also present your work in a poster session.
You will indicate this during the submission process.
III. Five-Minute Flash Talks from Abstracts
Instead of each platform having eight talks, this new change will allow for 7 platform talks and 3 flash talks (5 minutes). each). These flash talks will be selected from abstracts programmed as a poster. Flash talk presenters will also present their work in a poster session.
Abstract submitters must choose one of the following: Platform and Poster, Platform or Poster, Poster only. Each session type may be scheduled Sunday through Wednesday at the meeting.
Platform
Platform presentations will be chosen from among the abstracts submitted that have indicated an interest in being considered for a platform session. Platform sessions are competitive due to demand and space limitations, over 30% of those requesting a speaking slot are selected for platform session presentations. The Program Committee will select seven abstracts to be presented per platform session in addition to three "flash talks". Abstracts accepted for platform presentations will be organized into parallel sessions, running concurrently with symposia, Sunday - Wednesday. The seven speakers in these sessions will each be allotted 15 minutes for presentation and discussions while "flash talks" will have 5 minutes each for presentation and discussion. Abstracts not selected for platform presentation will be scheduled in an appropriate poster session.
To ensure diversity in the scientific program, presenters who have spoken in a platform session at the previous Annual Meeting may not be selected to speak in a platform session from the same topic category during the current year.
Poster
Attendees submitting abstracts select the appropriate topic category for their abstract. More than 600 posters will be scheduled each day of the meeting.
