Marco Polo Airport (VCE) in Venice is the closest airport to Padova. Padova is about 20 miles (32 km) from the Venice airport, and can be reached by bus or train. Taxi service is readily available, however, it can be pricey.

You can reach Padova city centre by FSBusitalia bus.
Train (via Bus)
Take ACTV line 15 bus or the ATVO MESTRE EXPRESS shuttle to Venezia Mestre railway station, then take a train to Padova (visit Trenitalia or Italo Treno websites).
