Biophysical Journal Outstanding Poster Award Winners Announced The Biophysical Society (BPS) announced the winners of the Biophysical Journal Outstanding Poster Awards given at the “Heart by Numbers: Integrating Theory, Computation and Experiment to Advance Cardiology” thematic meeting held September 4–7 in Berlin, Germany. BPS’s thematic meetings bring together researchers from diverse disciplines — that do not often attend the same meetings — to discuss important biophysical topics. The poster winners were selected by a committee made up of top researchers, including the meeting organizers and editors of Biophysical Journal, and were recognized for both their science and their presentation. The student winners and their poster titles are: Chon Lok Lei, University of Oxford, United Kingdom Rapid Characterisation of HERG Kinetics Using Optimised Protocols on a High-Throughput System Meruyert Kudaibergenova, University of Calgary, Canada State-Dependent Block of the HERG K+ Channel by Ivabradine: Allosteric Coupling to Drug Lipophilic Access Ilse van Herck, Simula Research Laboratory, Norway In Silico Model of SK Channel Gating, Temperature Dependence and Calcium Sensitivity The postdoctoral winner and her poster title was: Caroline Mendonca Costa, Kings College London, United Kingdom Investigating the Role of Left Ventricular Lead Location in Arrhythmogenic Risk in Infarct Patients Undergoing Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy The winners were announced at the close of the Berlin meeting and received a certificate recognizing their achievement and a monetary prize.
