ROCKVILLE, MD – The Biophysical Society is pleased to announce that Nieng Yan, PhD, Professor of Molecular Biology, Princeton University, New Jersey has been named the recipient of the Society’s 2021 Anatrace Membrane Protein Award. Yan will be honored at the Society’s 65th Annual Meeting, being held virtually, February 22-26, 2021.
Yan is being recognized for her seminal contributions to our structural understanding of the molecular mechanisms of membrane protein function and modulation. Funded by Anatrace, Inc., this award recognizes an outstanding investigator who has made a significant contribution to the field of membrane protein research.
“It is an honor to recognize Nieng’s outstanding contributions to our understanding of membrane proteins,” said BPS President Catherine A. Royer, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York. “Nieng is driven to select both important and difficult proteins to pursue in her research, and despite the difficulty, has demonstrated through both publication frequency and impact why she has been selected for this award. Her work has influenced researchers across the globe, and we are excited to highlight her impact in this field.”
The Anatrace Membrane Protein Award, supported by Anatrace Inc., was established to recognize an outstanding investigator who has made a significant contribution to the field of membrane protein research.
