Lisbon Biophysics Networking Meeting: From Protein Dynamics to Membrane Biophysics

This networking meeting will bring together the Portguese Biophysical community which attained international recognition, and is constituted by a small number of dynamic research groups in the field of Protein Structural Biology and Membrane Biophysics. This event is specially designed to promote scientific networking among distinct groups in the two research areas and to encourage future productive collaborations in the lipid-protein interaction field. 

This interdisciplinary event will connect researchers with complementary expertise in different biophysical techniques, such as X-ray, MD simulations, single-molecule, advanced fluorescence and microscopy techniques and Atomic Force Microscopy. In this way, it will promote the discussion of technical challenges in both fields and the distinct strategies to experimentally overcome them. 

This one-day networking event will consist of four 30-minute Keynote Lectures, ten 15-minute selected oral communications from only PhD students and Postdocs, a poster session and finally, a career discussion panel for PhD students and Postdocs moderated by the keynote speakers. It will provide a great opportunity for PhD students and postdocs: (i) to practice their oral presentation skills with 10 available slots in an informal meeting or, (ii) to present a poster and engage in a Best Poster competition prize. 

The registration and abstract submission are free of charge for all attendees. 

The event will take place at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal, in the Seminar Room: Anfiteatro do Complexo Interdisciplinar
