Gregory A. Voth to Receive 2021 Innovation Award

ROCKVILLE, MD – The Biophysical Society is pleased to announce that Gregory A. Voth, PhD, professor at the University of Chicago, Illinois has been named the recipient of the 2021 Innovation Award. Voth will be honored at the Society’s 65th Annual Meeting, being held virtually, February 22-26, 2021.

Voth is being recognized for his theoretical and computational methodologies that enable understanding of the behavior of complex systems including membrane-protein interactions, transport, and self-assembly. The BPS Innovation Award recognizes a BPS member who advances our fundamental understanding of biological systems through the development of novel theory, models, concepts, techniques, or applications. 

“Greg is an innovative computational scientist, who has advanced important new ideas and methods in the field of biophysics,” said BPS President Catherine A. Royer, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York. “We are proud to recognize his achievement and are eager to see the future innovations he achieves throughout his career.”

The BPS Innovation Award recognizes a BPS member who advances the fundamental understanding of biological systems through the development of novel theory, models, concepts, techniques, or applications.
