The Annual Meeting is right around the corner, and if you're presenting a poster -- especially for the first time at a BPS Annual Meeting -- you may have questions! Biophysical Society member Drake Mitchell, Portland State University, shares how and when to set up your poster, plus other tips to ensure that you and your fellow attendees get the most out of your poster presenting experience.
Posters are a vital aspect of the Annual Meeting and highly interactive; therefore, it is important that you not only present your science, but have your poster available for attendee viewing prior to and following your presentation.
Poster Schedules
Please refer to your programming notice, desktop planner, or mobile app for the date and time of your poster presentation. Below is specific information for the dates of presentation.
Board Assignments
Many times, poster presenters are unsure on which board to place their poster, because there is confusion between the Board number and the Poster number.
- Board numbers (B1, B2, B3, etc.) indicate the location of the poster board in the Exhibit Hall.
- Poster numbers (250-Pos, 251-Pos, etc.) correspond with the number assigned to each poster in the online Abstracts Issue.
Using the mobile app or desktop planner, search by your last name to find your poster and/or board number.
Late abstract presentations will be listed in the Program Addendum, in the mobile app, and on the desktop planner and can be viewed on-site on boards beginning with “LB.”
Please remember that it is the responsibility of the poster presenters to remove print materials from the board after their presentation. Please do not leave materials or belongings under poster boards or in the poster area. PLEASE NOTE: POSTERS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED OR STORED FOR PICK UP AT A LATER TIME.
